Gas Prices High--And Getting Higher
In regards to my previous post "Dropping Gas Prices" about some crazy solution to the rising gas prices that's nothing more than spam, I've thought of something.
In case you don't remember, here is that post.
Anyway, I don't think boycotting Exxon and Mobil gas will do anything to bring down the gas prices. In fact, such a boycott would probably increase gas prices--supply and demand. Come on, you need to purchase gas from somewhere to get to where you're going--work, or whereever. If you do not make money, you will not have money to spend to keep the economy afloat.
So you're gonna have to buy gas from somewhere, if not Exxon or Mobil, but if every one is buying from Chevron or Texaco or Shell, their supply will decrease while their demand will increase, causing the prices to go up at those stations.
Then again, if that happens, ExxonMobil may decrease their prices, or stay the same, and you may at a later point want the "cheaper" gas from ExxonMobil, and eventually, ExxonMobil will need to follow suit in increasing gas prices.
Face it. Gas prices are high, and they are only going to get higher--at least $4.00/gallon by this summer, and there is nothing we can do about it. I know it sucks. But also, I still believe they are putting stuff in the gasoline in lower the fuel efficiency of the vehicles thereby making us have to purchase more gas.
There is, however, something we can do about that. If we could start a conspiracy as to oil companies putting stuff in the gasoline to decrease fuel efficiency, something will come of that.
Anyway, it is the low supply and high demand of gasoline that is contributing to the increased gas prices among other things.
